
Kerry James
Chair of Governors at the Corby Business Academy, is co-director of Igneous Solutions Ltd, specialists in the field of Social Care Performance Management.
Kerry attended Brooke Weston College, a school which became the inspiration for Corby Business Academy, between 1993 and 2000.
After obtaining 14 GCSEs and 3 A Levels Kerry resisted the temptation of university life and instead entered the world of work.
Seven years were spent working for a supplier of databases to Social Care Departments. Within this time Kerry rose through the chain of command and before leaving, managed a team of developers and consultants responsible for implementing various performance management solutions.
In early 2007 Kerry joined Igneous Solutions as co-Director. Igneous are always keen to work with the local community and as such approached Brooke Weston College to offer work experience and mentoring placements to students.
It was from here that Kerry became involved in the Corby Business Academy and after a preliminary meeting accepted her nomination for Chair.
She is now fully dedicated to the future of the Academy and is investing as much time as possible to ensure its success.
John Hill
I currently run my own business as a consultant on regeneration, recently having worked on redeveloping the Corby Council estate of Kingswood, Arran Way on Lodge Park and Finland Way on Danesholme.
Before that I was a Director of Industry for Corby (10 years in the '90s) which involved marketing the town and attracting new businesses. I was also Strategic Director at Corby Borough Council.
I am currently co-chair of Corby Business Group and I am also involved in church activities, Local Government and sport (particularly distance running).
My own educational background is science orientated as I have a chemistry and polymers degree. My early career was in Research & Technology.
I was previously a Governor at Corby Community College.
Peter May
Teacher (Travel & Tourism, Business and Humanities) in BHE faculty, Sixth Form Tutor and Staff Governor.
I returned to teaching ten tears ago, after spending twenty five very successful years in sales and marketing, mainly within the whitegoods and luxury goods market.
My passion outside of school is the game of rugby football and I am Club Secretary at Kettering Rugby Club. I live in Kettering have been married for thirty two years, have two grown up married daughters and four wonderful grandchildren.
Charlotte Orton
Charlotte joined the circuit in its infancy and has played a crucial role in developing Rockingham into one of the county’s successful business stories. Her leadership skills, hard work and dedication have earned her the respect within the industry.
Rockingham has transformed from a motor racing circuit to one of the UK’s leading corporate entertainment and automotive venues, which resulted in the venue achieving its most successful operating year in 2008.
Charlotte’s career started within Sales & Marketing, gaining vast knowledge and experience in media and recruitment.
Joining Rockingham in 2002 Charlotte was promoted to Head of Sales & Marketing two years later and became a Director at the Northamptonshire circuit in 2007.
Klaus Göldenbot
Klaus has worked within the RS Components organisation since 2001, becoming Regional General Manager for Europe in October 2008.
Prior to joining Electrocomponents Klaus spent nine years with Adolf Würth GmbH & Co KG, Germany, one of Germany's Top 30 companies, holding management positions within Strategic Management, Sales and Marketing after having started as assistant to the CEO.
He has a BA in European Business, English and French and an MBA from Indiana University, Bloomington, US majoring in Marketing and Management. Klaus graduated from Indiana University in 1991 with an honours degree.
Klaus is co-author of a number of business publications focussing on the topic of "Benchmarking" and "Continuous Improvement"
In his spare time he is enjoys equestrian sports in the form of dressage, cross-country and hunting.
He also enjoys time at the opera and ballet. With regards to ballet he has written and published a number of books about the world famous Stuttgart Ballet
Wendy Warrior
Wendy, who is parent governor at the Corby Business Academy, has worked within the NHS for the past 25 years and is currently Sister in Charge of the maternity and gynaecology outpatients department at KGH NHS Foundation Trust.
Trained as a nurse and midwife, Wendy is used to dealing with and managing people on a daily basis. She was formerly a parent governor at Corby Community College and has always placed an enormous value on education and believes every child should be able to fulfil their potential.
She has four children, the youngest three, being Academy students.
She believes parents can bring a different perspective to the governing body table and believes it is important the parents voice is heard. She can be contacted via the school e-mail if anyone has any issues they wish her to raise for them or can be spoken to at the Parents In Partnership meetings.
