GCSE art students need your help

An appeal has been launched to find objects that will inspire the work of our GCSE Art & Design and Lens Based Media students.

An appeal has been launched to find objects that will inspire the work of our GCSE Art & Design and Lens Based Media students.

The students need to record images of objects that relate to the themes of Nostalgia, Balance, Distressed, Country and Humanity for their coursework.

Our Art department has created a small collection of objects, including a skeleton, an animal skull and dried flowers, but it needs more objects to help the students with their work.

Director of Art Zoe Moore said: “This piece of coursework amounts to nearly 25% of their final mark so it is very important.

“The students need the primary objects so they can demonstrate their observational skills to examiners.

“In the Lens Based Media course the students will also show how they have developed the image of the object through Photoshop and by using their lens based skills.

“The objects could be things like old jewellery, medals, dried flowers, distressed picture frames, records, bike parts, clothes – the list is endless.

“We would be very grateful to hear from anyone who can donate objects or loan objects to us for the project.”

Anyone who can donate or lend items should email ZMoore@corbybusinessacademy.org
