Year 8 students explore the world of KidZania

More of our students have had the chance to experience careers in a child-sized city where young people are in charge.

At the beginning of the year we took a group of Year 9 students to the world of KidZania in London which has its own economy, businesses and training opportunities for young people to explore.

The trip was so successful that we decided to take a group of Year 8 students to KidZania this term so they could visit more than 60 different real life role play situations, including the Aviation Academy, a television station and a hospital.

CBA Teacher Karen Owen accompanied the students on the trip.

She said: “KidZania gave the students a little taste of what life is like in the real world.

“The students could learn about a wide variety of different careers and the sets are absolutely amazing.

“The students are given their own bank accounts and can apply for jobs to earn more money. KidZania even has its own university that the students could apply to go to.

“It was a very successful trip.”

KidZania also includes a police station, supermarkets, Cadbury’s World, Renault, H&M, Al Jazeera, a football stadium, a theatre and a life like flight simulator experience.
