Year 7 student Leo Copeland (pictured) is a member of Corby Steel Diving Club and has taken part in national competitions at venues across the UK, including Edinburgh, Manchester, Southend and Bradford.

His awards to date include Gold in his age group at Thistle Trophy in Edinburgh and Silver at the National Skills Final in Southend.

Leo said: “From a young age I was good at swimming and I started diving about four years ago.

“I now train 10 hours a week with Corby Steel Diving Club at Corby International Swimming Pool and we travel all over the country to take part in competitions.

“At the moment I dive at novice level and I’m learning new skills all the time.

“I want to keep competing and keep getting better.

“My next national competition will be the White Rose in September. It’s one of the biggest competitions that we attend and I would really like to win a medal there.”
