Believe Big Competition launches at CBA

This week, we launched an ideas competition to our Key Stage 3 students in assembly. The competition called #BelieveBIG2018 is run and organised by an ideas company 7 Billion Ideas.

Over the next 6 weeks, students will be required to generate an idea, which will create a positive impact on the plant and could change the world. They will develop the idea creating a poster and model to show off their creation to the judges.

Three teams from each year group at CBA will represent their school at the first #BelieveBIG2018 finals day. Representatives from all the Brooke Weston Schools will attend the event, which will take place in March. Students who make it through will receive a winning certificate, T-shirts, goodies bags and be asked to create a stall to show off all of their work to the judges. The overall winner of the competition will then have their idea turned into a children’s book.

The aim of the project is to promote an entrepreneurial spirit across The Trust. It will provide an excellent educational opportunity to students to help build their confidence in their speaking, listening and teamwork skills.

Vice Principal Mr Mohammed Isnat, who is overseeing the project for the Academy said ‘as a business Academy we are always keen to get involved in entrepreneurial projects. This is a brilliant opportunity for our students to get really creative and share their ideas with other schools from the Trust. It’s also very exciting for the students that there is a possibility they could have their idea made into a children’s book.’
