National Citizen Service launch

Representatives from the National Citizen Service recently visited our Academy to talk to students about an opportunity they are running over the summer period.

Our current Year 11 students heard all about how National Citizen Service allows them to take part in a range of experiences in four phases: Adventure, Discovery, Social Action and Celebration, over a four week period.

During the first week, students will have the opportunity to stay at an outdoor activity centre and get to know each other. They will take part in a variety of challenging activities such as rock climbing, canoeing and abseiling.

During the second week, students will have the opportunity to develop life skills such as confidence, leadership and communication and will listen to influential professionals. This residential will also give students the opportunity to experience what university could be like as well as living away from home.

During week three, students will devise a community project based on an issue they feel passionate about. This allows the students to make a real difference to the local community.

During week four, Students will have the opportunity to reflect on their achievements by celebrating their triumphs with other students who have taken part in the project.

Students can now sign-up to take part in the programme by going to  https://www.ncsyes.co.uk.
