Brooke Weston Partnership Goes From Strength To Strength

Recognition of individual excellence, as well as continued partnership success was the theme of a special reception held for staff from the Brooke Weston Partnership’s three Academies.

Staff from Brooke Weston, Corby Business Academy and Kettering Science Academy (secondary and primary phase) gathered at CBA on Monday, September 5th to celebrate the successes of the last academic year and look forward to this year's new challenges.

Executive Principal Sir Peter Simpson welcomed new staff and congratulated existing staff for their efforts in the previous academic year.

Outlining the Brooke Weston Partnership philosophy which has made each Academy a success, Sir Peter said: "We always want to do better. We always want to do something a bit different. We are ambitions and we are aspirational. Too many young people can't see their way clear and it is our job to show them what can be possible."

The Executive Principal also set out the partnership's plans for the future.

He said: "One focus of the work we will be doing over the next few years will be the knitting together of the schools into one organisation."

Looking to strengthen the partnership's place at the forefront of education, Sir Peter revealed plans to add a research dimension to each Academy.

The 2010-11 academic year was another good one for all BWP schools.

Corby Business Academy's exceeded its own predictions (set when it opened in 2008) to this year gain its highest set of GCSE results (77 percent of students gained five A to C grades); Kettering Science Academy posted its best set of results at GCSE and Brooke Weston Academy was awarded the prestigious Teacher School status.

CBA Principal Andrew Campbell said: "Everyone within the Brooke Weston family can take strength from each other; from the shared set of values and a common set of goals."

CBA Maths teacher Steph Jarmolkiewicz said being part of the Brooke Weston Partnership added value to her teaching.

She said: "Sharing ideas within the partnership and collaborative working is invaluable."
