Games for National Poetry Day

Timed Tongue Twisters was the challenge given to Corby Business Academy students to mark National Poetry Day.

Students raced against the library clock to try and speak the alliterative rhymes as fast as they could, with a prize for the winner.

Throughout the day students were also tasked with reading poems to Librarian Amy McKay and assistant Bernie Smith in exchange for entry into a sweet raffle.

Miss McKay said: "National Poetry Day is a lovely opportunity to give students the chance to experience the humour and fun poetry can bring."

To mark National Poetry Day poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy will be  holding court at the Big Tent on Wimbledon Common and reading poems from her new collection The Bees.
