Down At The Riverbank

Students from the Unit joined students from neighbouring schools in casting their rods in search of fish.

Seven students visited Ringstead Island Fishery on September 28th and basked in the glorious sunshine while getting down to the serious business of fishing.

Acting Principal John Henrys made a visit to the riverbank and saw our students in action.

At the end of the day all were given certificates for participation and three students were also given medals.

Jordan Andrew was awarded the Best Fisherman accolade, Matty Cluff caught the biggest fish (a carp weighing in at around 5lb) and Tammy Rennie caught the most fish, plucking nine out of the water.

The day was run by The Masonic Fishing Charity, whose aim is to bring an interactive fishing and countryside experience to people with Special Needs.
