Girls Football Team To Play in Final at Sixfields

Our Year 7 and 8 Girls Football Team has made it to the county finals after reigning supreme in a local tournament.

The team beat our sister academy Kettering Science Academy with a last minute winner in the Kettering and Corby Tournament held at The Kingswood School yesterday (November 9th).

They now go onto the County Finals on Thursday 24th November at Sixfields Stadium in Northampton and will play against teams from Northampton, Wellingborough, East Northants, South Northants and the Daventry districts.

Team Coach Natasha Dunstone said she was proud of the team, who won all of the three matches they played.

She said: "The girls played very well despite the dark and rainy conditions. They showed true grit and determination to get through to the final.

"The final was a very close match and the game was won in the dying minutes of extra time. Well done to the girls."

The winner of the County Finals will have the honour of representing the County at the Regional Finals at Milton Keynes in January.

The team members were: Vanessa Mumba, Lola Kenny, Chloe Rowlett, Demi Leigh Johnston, Bethany Carey, Scarlett Marshall, Megan MacDonald, Chloe MacDonald, Hannah Gibbons and Nicole Andrejcuk
