Consultation On Trust Status

Plans to simplify the administration of schools within the Brooke Weston Partnership are being proposed.

Plans to simplify the administration of schools within the Brooke Weston Partnership are being proposed.

Currently each of the three Partner schools; Corby Business Academy, Brooke Weston Academy, and Kettering Science Academy, have their own separate Governing Body and Trust, with each Governing Body meeting several times annually and each Board of Trustees meeting once a year to receive reports about the financial and educational status of each establishment.

Proposals have been made to amalgamate the existing three Trusts into one; the Brooke Weston Trust, that would incorporate the current Partnership schools and any establishments that may join in the future.

While each of the schools will retain its existing Governing Body, it is planned that each would report to a Board of Directors, a new organisation to be formed, comprising, among others, representatives from the Sponsors, staff, academies and parents. The Board of Directors would, itself, be accountable to the Brooke Weston Trust.

The proposed changes would have no adverse implications for students, staff or parents. Existing staff at Corby Business Academy and Kettering Science Academy would become employees of the Brooke Weston Trust and there will be no changes to any terms and conditions of employment already in place.

Further details on the proposals can be found on the Brooke Weston Partnership website www.brookewestonpartnership.org and any comments should be made to the Partnership by Friday 3 February 2012.
