Three students are starting a curry boot camp where they will learn the art of how to make a good spicy dish.

Year 10 BTEC Hospitality student Aaron Baker and Year 9 GCSE Food Technology students Heather Phillips and Tyler Robertson will be joining other students from across the area at the boot camp which is taking place to mark the 25th anniversary of Corby curry house Bombay Dynasty.

They will be given expert training by the restaurant’s owner Mohammed Rahman and then serve up dishes to invited guests at a celebratory meal taking place at the George Street restaurant next Tuesday (May 15th).

Mr Rahman, who is also deputy mayor of Corby, said: “The boot camp is our way of promoting culture in the community.

“A curry is a relatively simple dish to prepare. The clever bit is using the spices creatively to produce a really special taste.

“The boot camp will cover kitchen techniques and also front of house skills.”

Teacher Cath Davis said: “This is a great opportunity for the students to learn some spicing techniques and also receive some practical experience of a working restaurant.”

The first session takes place after Academy hours today.
