Students can get some ideas of what books to read by watching book trailers which are now being shown on a screen in the Library once a week.

The trailers were screened for the first time on Monday and will now be shown every Monday lunchtime. Trailers for a total of 60 books are being shown.

Some of the book trailers being shown include trailers for ‘Charlotte’s Web’ by E.B. White, the Carnegie Medal winning book ‘A Monster Calls’ by Patrick Ness  and 'Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children' by Ransom Riggs, the New York Times bestseller which is being adapted into a film.

Librarian Amy McKay said: “They are just like film trailers but for books. It’s a different way of promoting books.

“On the first day we already had students asking for some of the books they had watched the trailers of.

“We will have the trailers on every Monday lunchtime and we will change it every week.

“We’ve tried to cover each genre, books for girls and boys and books for different age ranges.”
