The BHE faculty’s tree was named winner of the CBA Christmas tree competition.

The challenge was for each faculty to create a tree with decorations based on a Christmas song which related to the faculty.

At least half of the decorations had to be handmade by staff or students.

The BHE tree was decorated based on the Live Aid song ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas Time’. Decorations included paperchains featuring the Fairtrade logo, to link to business, and students created decorations by drawing around their hands, cutting out the card, decorating it and writing religious messages on it.

The contest was judged by Dr Andrew Campbell, who said he chose the BHE tree because of the amount of student involvement in creating the decorations.
