The Corby heat of a competition to find the best young mathematicians in the East Midlands will be held at CBA.

The Corby heat of a competition to find the best young mathematicians in the East Midlands will be held at CBA.
The Academy will host the Corby heat of the Year 10 Team Mathematics Competition 2014 on March 6th 2014.
The regional competition has been organized by the Further Mathematics Support Programme (FMSP) and is open to teams of four Year 10 students who work together on a set of problems.
Our assistant director of mathematics Maxwell Sam said: “The heat is open to schools in and around Corby.
“We will be presenting two teams and as we’re the host school we’re hoping to win it.
“We'll be putting together our teams in Term 3 and we have a good selection of students to choose from."
If our students make it through they will go on to compete in the next heat which is due to be held in Northampton.
The competition is designed to test students’ mathematical, communication and teamwork skills.
Each heat will last about two and a half hours.
