Rugby players performed well despite bad weather

Our youngest rugby team put on a brave show during their latest tournament.

Our Year 7 team faced competitors from Lodge Park, Kingswood, Brooke Weston and Bishop Stopford during a Rugby Festival at the end of last month.

The event had to finish early because of heavy rain but before it did our team won one match, drew another and only lost one.

Teacher Phil Woolley organized the event at our Academy.

He said: “The weather was terrible but the team played really well.

“They’re a very strong team and if they work hard they will get even better.

“I’m hoping to rearrange the tournament as the weather was so bad.”

Our Academy is signed up to the All Schools Rugby Programme which provides opportunities for our students to train with external coaches and use the latest equipment.
