Corby Business Academy has further strengthened its reputation in the business world following the publication of our latest exam results.

The results for our A-Level and Level 3 vocational subjects have been published today and our successes include a 100 per cent pass rate in all the vocational

qualifications the Academy offers, including Business.

Other stand out subjects included Travel and Tourism, Dance, Media, English Literature and Art.

Principal John Henrys said: “We have had an increase in our overall point score which is really good news.

“We have had some very good results and we are delighted to have once again been very successful in Business.
 

“It’s very pleasing that we have further improved on last year’s results.

“The improvements reflect the hard work of both students and staff during the past two years.

“Our students have done very well to gain the qualifications they needed to take their respective next steps.”

Former Head Girl Ellie Mae Moore, 18, earned a number of top grades, including a Distinction* in Business, an A* in Dance and a Distinction in Travel and Tourism.

Her success means she has been accepted on to the Event Management sandwich degree course at Leeds Metropolitan University.

She said: “I’ve done better than I expected to do and I’m so happy.

“I’m delighted my hard work has paid off – when you get this piece of paper in your hands it makes all your efforts seem worthwhile.

“I cannot wait to start university. I’m really looking forward to my course which includes a year abroad in either Australia, America or Dubai.”

Mark Winkler, 18, secured the grades he needs to study Computer Science at De Montfort University, including a Distinction in Business and a Distinction in Travel and Tourism.

He said: “I hoped to do this well and I feel very relieved now I have my results.

“It was worth all the hard work.”

Charlie Bell, 18, can follow her dream to become a primary school teacher after she secured three good A-Levels, including an A* in Dance.

She has been accepted onto Bedford University’s Education Studies degree course.

She said: “I feel a bit overwhelmed at the moment – I don’t think it has sunk in.

“I feel very happy that I can go on to study to become a primary school teacher.”

Former Head Boy David Graham, 19, secured the grades he needed to study Law at Anglia Ruskin University.

He said: “It feels gratifying to have my results. I worked hard and went to a lot of trouble to make sure I got my work in on time.

“I’m passionate about studying Law – it’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time.

“I’m really looking forward to starting university and I’m determined to be a good student.”

Andile Chiwuta, 19, achieved several top grades, including a Distinction in Business and a Distinction in Travel and Tourism, and as a result he will be able to study Mechanical

Engineering at Brunel University.

He said: “I woke up in a state of panic and that’s not passed yet but it’s great that my hard work has paid off.”

Mirella Piatkowska, 18, achieved the grades she needed to begin a Foundation course in Art and Design at New College Nottingham.

She said: “I’m happy and I’m looking forward to the next chapter in my life and meeting new people.”

Parent Karen Walker visited the Academy to pick up examination results for her son.

She said: “I think the teachers at the Academy are very supportive of the students.

“It’s great to see so many of the staff here today supporting them and celebrating with them.”
