Runners give Prom fundraising a boost

Two of our Active teachers took part in the Silverstone half marathon to help raise funds for our Year 11 Prom.

Teacher Natasha Dunstone and Active Director Amy Harris crossed the line together in a respectable time of two hours and thirty minutes.

Mrs Harris said: “The day was really good but daunting as it was our first half marathon. It was really cold to start off with but it turned fine when we were running. It wasn’t very windy so the conditions were quite good.

“We managed to raise £100 towards the Prom for decorations and lovely extra bits such as a Photobooth, although of course we would welcome extra donations.”

The pair were joined by illustrious company as Paralympian champion David Weir also competed in the race.

They are now planning to do the Great Eastern run in Peterborough in October.
