Fishing trip enables students to learn new skills

Our Unit students learned about a countryside pursuit during an event in East Northamptonshire.

Our Unit students learned about a countryside pursuit during an event in East Northamptonshire.

Our students spent a day in Ringstead learning how to fish with members of the MTSFC – the Masonic Fishing Charity.

The charity organises fishing events for students with special needs to give them the chance to improve their confidence, meet new challenges and achieve tangible results.

CBA Special Needs Teacher Nikki Clark said: “It’s a great experience for the students. It helps them to improve their communication skills and catching the fish gives them a great sense of achievement and boosts their confidence.

“We would like to thank all the members of the MTSFC for arranging a lovely day for us.”

Zoey Skelton won a medal for catching the biggest fish, Elsie Davis won the medal for independent fishing and Daniel Lee won the medal for catching the most fish.
