Easter Reading Challenge is a hit with students

Our Easter Reading Challenge proved very popular with students.

Our Easter Reading Challenge proved very popular with students.

Our Year 7 and 8 students were given a picture of an Easter egg which they could decorate in full if they completed eight blocks of 15 minutes of reading over the holidays.

So far nearly 50 completed Easter egg pictures have been handed in to the Library and students have until Monday to submit their pictures to be in with a chance of winning a prize.

Librarian Amy McKay said: “The response to the competition has been very good.

“Some students have even brought in two pictures because they did at least four hours of reading over the holidays.

“We organised the competition because we expect the students to read as part of their independent study.

“It’s great to see that the students really engaged with this challenge and that their parents have supported them.”

Before the students could decorate their eggs their parents had to sign off their reading.
