Fantastic staff members from CBA have made it through to the finals of the Northamptonshire Education Awards.

CBA’s Attendance, Welfare and Safeguarding Officer Elaine Pickford is a finalist in the Unsung Hero category and our Outstanding Unit team is a finalist in the Special School or SEN Provision of the Year Award.

Elaine was nominated for her tireless efforts to look after our students’ well-being and for the support she offers students and their families.

She said: “I was surprised and shocked to have been nominated in the first place so I’m elated to have got through to the final.”

Our great Unit team has just been ranked Outstanding by Northamptonshire County Council for the second time in a row and the team was nominated for this award for enabling all its students to meet or exceed their targets.

Unit Assistant Manager Caren Brown added: “We are thrilled to be in the final.

“This nomination is the result of a lot of hard work that our staff put into the Unit, not just this year but in the past few years.

“We always want to improve on what we do and do our very best for our students.”

The awards have been organised by the Northants Telegraph, the Northampton Chronicle & Echo and the Daventry Express and the main sponsor is the University of Northampton.

The grand final of the awards will be held tomorrow (Wednesday) evening at Wicksteed Pavilion in Kettering.
