Cricketers Nominated For Northamptonshire Team Of The Year

CBA’s Under-13 Cricket Team could soon add another accolade to its growing list of achievements after being nominated for a county award.

The club is in the running to be crowned Team of the Year at the awards ceremony organised by the Children and Young People's Partnership in conjunction with Northamptonshire County Council.

It tops off a successful first season for the team which culminated with a win in the Cuthell Cup final earlier this month (September).

Coach Jordon Joseph, who led the team to success as a Year 13 student, has also been put forward for two awards himself - Contributions to the Community and the Volunteer award.

He got the team up and running, attracted funding for sponsorship and equipment, led the training sessions and entered the team in local competitions.

Jordon, who is now a Sports Technician at CBA while he studies for a coaching degree, said: "For the team, it shows how far we have come in our first year. We have already won a cup along with an internal award at CBA.

"Now we're up for this and it's county-wide.

"It's also an honour to be nominated myself."

Kirsty Farrar, Head of Raising Aspirations at CBA, nominated the cricket team and Jordon for the awards, which will be held on October 14th.
