Young Barristers In The Making

Year 12 and two Year 11 students took part in the regional heats of the Law Society competition in Norwich.

We took on the roles of Prosecution or Defence Barristers.

Other students in the team were the witnesses, the jury, the court usher and clerk to the Court. We tried two cases in front of circuit judges from the High Court in London and prosecuted the accused or defended the accused competing against representatives from other schools.

The excellent performance was the culmination of several weeks work where we had the support of Gareth a local barrister.

We were all enthusiastic about our experiences and want to take part again next year with two of us seriously considering a legal career.
