Cross Country Run For Uganda Appeal

Students are warming up for CBA’s next charity challenge – a cross country run.

Four Year 7 groups are aiming to run eight laps of the Academy field - up to five miles - to raise money for an education centre in Uganda, a project that CBA supports.

The first run will take place on Tuesday afternoon and the second the following morning.

Business Studies Teacher Alex Allan has organised the event as part of students' enterprise studies and she said her classes are aiming to beat last year's fundraising efforts, when £1,000 was collected in sponsorship.

She said: "From what students have been telling me, the sponsorship money is gushing in.

"This is the third year we have done the charity cross country run and it's always proved to be very successful.

"This year, we're aiming to raise a lot more."

Prizes will be awarded to students who raise the most amount of money in each class.

The Discovery Centre is a residential facility which offers young people educational, recreational and sporting opportunities.

Students from CBA have visited the centre in previous years.
