Mentors Win Bid For Funding
The Year 10 mentors, who have been helping the younger students to settle in, were given the challenge of coming up with a new after-school activity for which they could bid for £500 of funding.
They decided on a photography club after speaking to Year 7 and started putting their bid together.
The mentors presented their idea to the Corby Learning Partnership and were delighted when they were awarded funding.
They will now use the money to buy cameras, a printer, printer paper and ink cartridges.
They said: "We were all very pleased and proud that we had won so we could finally start planning the real club for the Year 7s.
"Now all the hard work starts but we are looking forward to getting the club up and running.
"Year 7 watch this space."
