Northampton School Inspired By CBA’s Senate

Two Sixth Formers from Northampton School for Girls visited CBA to learn about the success of the Academy’s Senate.

One of the girls' teachers recommended they pay a visit to CBA following the Senate's achievement of becoming the first student council in Northamptonshire to reach Platinum status.

Anisha Popat and Hannah Woddington, (pictured centre and right in the bottom row), met with Senate members today (Thursday, March 3rd) to hear how the student voice has been developed to become an important part of life at CBA.

Anisha said: "At the moment we have a year-group council but we want to get a whole-school council going and make it more influential.

"A lot of good ideas come from students and we want students' voices to be heard.

"The things we found useful from our visit was the idea of using the TV screens more for information and staggering the lunchtimes."

Head Boy Ivo Silva and Head Girl Alice Hill took the students on a tour of CBA before Senate member Fraser Gillan discussed the workings of the school council with them.
