Get A Taste Of University Life

Students have been encouraged to apply for a summer camp programme which will give them experience of university life.

Simon Aston from the government scheme Aim Higher visited CBA today (Thursday, March 10th) to speak to Year 9 and 10 students about the residential camps.

They are designed to give young people a taste of university life through subject-based workshops and taster sessions and interaction with current university students.

Those who win a place on the programme get to stay in student accommodation and take part in a host of social activities.

Aim Higher will also work with students on their presentation skills, employment opportunities and how they can budget at university.

Mr Aston said: "One of the main reasons we do this is to give people an idea of what university or college is like and to encourage them to think about going on to higher education."

Students were given application forms to complete if they expressed an interested in attending one of the camps.
