Kitchen Garden Open Evening

An open evening has been organised to celebrate the transformation of CBA’s Kitchen Garden.

Staff, the Friends of CBA Kitchen Garden and the Kitchen Garden Club and their families have all been invited to the event on Tuesday, May 3rd from 5pm to 6pm.

They will be joined by representatives from the Lottery's Local Food programme, which provided the funding for the garden.

It is an opportunity for people to see the progress made over the last six months, which includes the planting of six fruit trees, an additional 15 tonnes of topsoil and a new ramp into the chicken run.

Refreshments will be served including home-baked cakes using freshly laid eggs from the chickens.

The garden has really taken shape since construction started on it last year.

From an empty piece of land, the garden has been transformed into a hive of activity, with planters, vegetable plots, a green house and a chicken run all being added over the months.

The garden has proved to be an invaluable resource for students, especially those in the Designated Special Provision.
