Science lab turns into a farmyard

In the last week of term the PNS department saw the arrival of a chicken, ferrets, snakes, spiders and many more weird and wonderful creatures.

These animals belonged to Gary and Karen who had kindly brought them into the PNS faculty. This was a fantastic opportunity for our Year 8 students who have recently been studying ecological relationships.

Gary, works part time at Rugby Reptiles, was able to impart his knowledge of these animals to the students who sat in awe as he brought out one after another of his unusual pets.

During the afternoon students from the DSP faculty joined Year 8 to meet animals and all students had the opportunity to touch, hold and even feed them, which for many was a unique experience, although for some reason nobody held the Chilean rose tarantula!
