Goals Galore

The Year 7/8 Girls Football team has got off to a flying start this season.

The team kept a clean sheet and put nine goals past the Latimer School goalie in the first game of the season and beat The Kingswood School team 6-1 their second match.

Sports teacher Natasha Dunstone who is coaching the team along with Sixth Form student Rebecca Welsh said: "We hope the team can go unbeaten all season.

"We have some really talented players who have joined the school this year and the high number of Year 7s has encouraged more Year 8s to come along.

"A lot of the team also are members of teams outside of school and the extra practice really shows."

Year 7 Emily Russell plays for Aztec girls team and is due to have a trial for Leicester girls.

She said: "I love football and hopefully the team will do well. I used to play in a boys team so I think this has helped me a lot."

The team have a few more competitive games and a tournament lined up and then will play some friendly matches.
