The newly appointed Senior Student Team are organising the event which will see a number of different activities take place throughout the academy.

The SST were today selling hugs which will delivered tomorrow by our very own Pudsey Bear who will be touring the faculties throughout the day.

SST member Chrissie Moore (pictured with Year 7 student Ellie Moore) said: "We  have sold a huge number of hugs already and students have been really generous.

"Hopefully we can go on to raise a huge amount of money."

The SST team (which is made up of Headboy Fraser Gillan, Headgirl Shona McKinnon, Catherine Grant, Morium Aktar, Charlotte Bean, David Graham and Chrissie Moore) have devised a programme of fundraising activities.

Tomorrow (Friday, November 18th) will be an official mufti day - with students donating £1 on entry to the academy.

There will be Pudsey cakes, stickers and masks on sale, there will be a guess the name of the teddy competition and staff and Senior Students will be selling favours to the highest bidders. Students will also be taking donations in collection buckets.

A small proportion of the funds will be used to buy books to send over to the Discovery Centre in Uganda.
