Could you give Alistair Darling a run for his money?
It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity and there are lots of prizes to be won, besides the power of being in charge of our country’s economy for a day.
As part of the competition all entrants are provided with a list of ways in which public money could be spent (in areas such as Environment, Health and Education.) However, just like in the real world, they can’t choose them all so they need to prioritise those they think are most important, making compromises where necessary, and then justifying their choices by writing the Chancellor’s speech, explaining to the country what the money will be spent on and why. The deadline for submissions is 27th February so good luck and get writing.
All you need to do is follow the link to enter the competition.
