Students Launch Company

Sixth Form Students from our DSP provision have set up their own company selling cookery themed products.

Under the Young Enterprise Team Programme the group of seven students have formed Happy Hands.

The Team programme inspires students with special educational and support needs to work together as they set up and run their own real company.

As part of the programme the students have to sell shares to pull together investment and then pay dividends if a profit is made.

The products on line so far are colourful tea towels and re-usable shopping bags.

Vintage tea cup candles will be available soon.

Student Ellie Scopes who is the Managing Director of Happy Hands and the rest of the team are Fern Hall, Jessica Dewar, Anthony McGavigan, Matthew Cluff, Tammy Rennie and Tommy Allen.

The company is to be advised by two employees from RS Components who will come in once a term to help advise on any business matters that may arise.

The team will be selling their wares to staff at the electronics firm on January 25th.

Happy Hands merchandise will be for sale at Enterprise events held at CBA during March and June.
