A-Level Results Day

The introduction of new A Level courses has led to success for many students, with several exceeding their target grades.

Among the new courses is A Level media, in which students achieved highly. There were also some strong performances in A Level English literature.

Acting Principal John Henrys said: “We have seen many students exceeding their target grades and most of those who applied for university achieved the grades required. As a business and enterprise academy we are delighted that a large number of students have achieved distinction star in Level 3 business studies.”

Christina Moore (pictured second from left) achieved an A* in dance, an A* in sport and a B in media – she started her dance A Level in Year 11 and gained her A* a year early. She is going on to the University of Lincoln to study dance and performance. Christina said: “I checked the UCAS website this morning so I knew I had my place but I was still nervous about getting my results. It’s paid off and I’m really happy with how I’ve done.”

Nenyasha Mukumbuzi (pictured left) is going on to study politics and international relations at Aston University after gaining a B in English literature, a distinction star in BTEC business and a merit in IT. She said: “I’ve always been interested in international relations and I’d like to do something that makes a difference in the world.”

Dajana Vucenovic has opted to study economics at university after achieving a B in media, a C in English literature and a distinction star in BTEC business.
