Students pay a visit to Stoke City Football Club

Students from the Academy's Year 9 football team visited the Britannia Stadium, home of Premier League side Stoke City Football Club.

Students from the Academy's Year 9 football team visited the Britannia Stadium, home of Premier League side Stoke City Football Club.

The students visited the Staffordshire ground at the end of the Summer Term.

The day trip began with a visit to the Dome, which is used by Stoke City’s Academy players.

The students took part in a game of football and were spoken to about how the Academy players use the Dome.

They then went on to the stadium for a tour.

Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Stuart Baker, who is manager of the Year 9 and 10 football teams, said: “During the stadium tour we had the opportunity to ask various questions.

“We were then given a presentation on the different aspects of the football club and the different industries that work within this.

“The boys were very good and listened and asked questions.”

After spending six hours with the football club the students then went on to water park Waterworld to finish off the day.

Mr Baker said: “The boys again were a credit to the Academy and showed good behaviour and maturity throughout the day.”
