CBA students set for Harry Potter tour

A group of 14 students are looking forward to a trip to the Harry Potter studios which has been organised by CBA’s library staff.

The library ran a Harry Potter-themed quiz last year and the 14 students who scored the highest marks in the quiz will visit the studios this month.

The students will get the chance to look behind-the-scenes of the Harry Potter films by touring the sets and seeing costumes and props.

They will visit the Great Hall, explore Dumbledore’s office and step onto the cobbles of Diagon Alley, featuring the shop fronts of Ollivanders wand shop, Flourish and Blotts, the Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes, Gringotts Wizarding Bank and Eeylops Owl Emporium.

Students will get the chance to see props from the films, including Harry’s Nimbus 2000 and Hagrid’s motorcycle, and will visit film sets including the Gryffindor common room, the boys’ dormitory, Hagrid’s hut, Potion’s classroom and Professor Umbridge’s office at the Ministry of Magic.

Year 9 student David Tierney said he was looking forward to the visit. He said: “I love the Harry Potter books. It will be interesting to have a look at how the films were made, I’m looking forward to seeing the sets.”
