Winter Olympics inspire cookery sessions

The Winter Olympics has inspired some of our students to try out new recipes.

This term, students in Unit are investigating the use of different batters during their cookery sessions and decided to try out recipes from countries competing in the Winter Olympics.

They began with blinis from Russia, then moved on to French crepes and this week they made Scandinavian waffles.

Teacher Nikki Clark said: “Our students researched recipes for us to try out and we narrowed them down to the ones we could make during lesson time.

“They carried out the recipes under supervision, on a one-to-one basis, and they’ve tried all the dishes for themselves.

“At the end they will vote for their favourite recipe.”
