Mathematicians bring medals back to CBA

Young mathematicians have brought more than 20 medals home to Corby Business Academy following their latest competition.

Our Year 7 and 8 students won a total of three gold, 12 silver and nine bronze medals at the UK Junior Mathematical Challenge.

CBA Assistant Director of Mathematics, Maxwell Sam, said: “I’m very pleased that our students have done so well.

“We will keep working hard so we do even better next time.”

Year 8 students Milos Pajcin, Louie Anderson and Harry McEwan all won gold in the competition.

Milos said: “I was really surprised to find out I’d got the best result in the school.

“I took part in the competition last year but I did better this time.

“Maths is my favourite subject.”

Louie said: “I was happy to find out how well I did.

“I enjoy mathematics and I hope to take part in the next maths competition.”

Harry was also pleased to win gold.

He said: “I’m good at maths and I’d like to do something with maths when I’m older.”
