Corby Business Academy Prom 2013

September 2012

Dear Parent/Carer

The Corby Business Academy Prom is a celebration of achievements that students have made over the last two years and this letter is to inform both you and the students, the requirements in order to attend. The criteria has been agreed by Senior Management and has been fully communicated to the Prom Committee on a weekly basis and with their input, the criteria is as follows:

For attendance to the Prom, we are expecting students to achieve at least 95% attendance by 24th May 2013 (end of Term 5). Please note authorised absence is considered within this percentage. To monitor attendance your students tutor has access to e-portal where they can check their progress within tutor times.

In addition to the required attendance, students are also monitored by their behaviour. Students who are issued with more than two 'Isolation' or one full 'exclusion' day/s will also be excluded from attending the Prom automatically regardless of attendance.

Both conditions will take effect from Monday 24th September 2012 to Friday 24th May 2013. Students who are unsuccessful will be informed by myself at the start of Term 6. Those who have reached the required criteria will be listed at Student Reception and only those individuals will be able to purchase their tickets.

The date in which the prom will be held will be confirmed at the start of next term, along with the cost of ticket and time of event. The Prom will be after the Year 11's last exam which is 24th June 2013 and will be approximately within the following two weeks after that date, therefore please ensure holidays are booked after this time to avoid disappointment.

The Prom Committee are currently working extremely hard to ensure that this years' Prom, which has yet to be decided on a theme, will excel's the usual fantastic standard from previous years and are currently planning fund raising activities to assist in the cost of the event. If any parent/carer wishing to donate, it will be greatly received.

Please feel free to contact me regarding any concerns by email; aharris@corbybusinessacademy.org or by contacting the Academy on the number above.

Yours faithfully
