Dear Parent/Carer
Your son/daughter has chosen to take part in the Young Enterprise Programme supported and sponsored by RS Components.
The purpose of the Young Enterprise programme is based upon ‘Learning By Doing’. Students will be given the opportunity to learn about business in a practical way and at the same time, discover what it is like to start a Business Enterprise.
Over the course of this year, students will work as a team to raise finance, market research, develop a product, manage and promote their company and sell to the public at many Trade Events.
In addition Young Enterprise Companies from across the UK will compete in the HSBC Young Enterprise & Innovation Awards, starting at regional level.
Therefore you son/daughter will be required at times to attend specific events as shown overleaf in the October 2012 to January 2013 schedule. The February 2013 to July 2013 schedule will be provided at a later date.
As many of the events are after school and are at weekends, lunch will not be provided therefore a packed lunch or sufficient funds will need to be supplied by the student. Students will also be required to make their own way home from Corby Business Academy, during these times.
