Sock snowmen are a success at sale

Talented textiles students have helped to raise about £100 for our Design Technology department by creating sock snowmen.

Talented textiles students have helped to raise about £100 for our Design Technology department by creating sock snowmen.

Members of our Sew N Sews after school club made the snowmen during Session 4.

They were sold at our Enterprise Sale event on Friday.

Design Technology Lead Teacher Abbie Parsons said: “The students had fun making the snowmen and worked out how they could help one another to make them without spilling rice everywhere!

“The students used their business and mathematics skills to work out the cost of the snowmen in order to cover the cost of the materials and make a small profit.

“The sock snowmen were joined at the sale by lots of cakes and mince pies made by our wonderful technician Debbie Reilly.

“Mrs Reilly and Mr Barr set up and ran the stall at the sale. We completely sold out and in total raised about £100 for the department.”
