Easter Reading Challenge is launched

All our Year 7 and 8 students have been encouraged to take part in our Easter Reading Challenge.

All our Year 7 and 8 students have been encouraged to take part in our Easter Reading Challenge.

Each student has a picture of an Easter egg which they can decorate in full if they complete eight blocks of 15 minutes of reading over the Easter holidays.

Students must get their parents to sign off their reading and can decorate a section of the egg after they complete each block of reading.

Librarian Amy McKay said: "We expect that students will read in their own time as part of their extended study.

"The establishment of an independent reading habit has such a positive impact on people's lives.

"We hope the students will bring in their completed Easter eggs after the holidays and there will be prizes for those who complete the two hours reading.

"Taking part in the reading challenge will also help students with the Accelerated Reader scheme.

"Over the holidays students will be away from CBA for 474 hours so two hours is not that long to spend reading."
