National Sports Week

This week is national sports week and to celebrate the PE department have organised a range of events for both students and staff to take part in.

To begin the week there will be a 5k Race for Life, in honour of Cancer Research, on the field after school for both staff and students to get involved in. Students are required to pay £1 to enter and all entrants will receive a medal. There will also be a board in the central area where students can write their own bubble message to a loved one who has been affected by Cancer and include a picture if they so wish.

On Wednesday there is a Key Stage 3 football tournament and on Friday we have a guest speaker coming to the school as well as a Year 12 bike ride around Rutland Water. Throughout the week, teachers will also be able to get involved in rounders, ballet and football.

Miss Amy Harris said ‘We want to highlight the benefits and influences sport has on our everyday life and show just how fun sport can be.’
