Sports Relief Events

The Academy’s PE department are holding a variety of activities to celebrate and raise money for Sports Relief over the next week leading up to the Easter holidays.

A variety of students and staff have signed up to take part in a continuous cycle ride from Monday 26th - Wednesday 28th March. There will be two bikes in the mall and distances will be recorded. Prizes will be awarded for the person who cycles the furthest and the pair that cycle the furthest. Staff and students are welcome to donate money to cheer them on.

From Thursday 22nd to Wednesday 28th March, students will have the opportunity to wear mufti sports kit in their PE lessons for a donation of 50p. This will start on Thursday 22nd March through to Wednesday 28th. *

During core PE, students will also complete a Sports Relief mile around the astro turf at the start of their lesson. Students are encouraged to gain sponsors and can pick up a sponsorship form from Mrs Harris.

As part of the Tutor Time programme, all year groups will discuss the importance of Sports Relief and watch videos to find out all about the types of projects the money goes towards to help young people.

Director of PE Mrs Harris said ‘We want to get both the staff and students involved in Sports Relief and have decided to put on a variety of events which we hope our students will have lots of fun taking part in whilst raising money for a great cause.’

*Students are required to wear appropriate sports kit for their lessons. Those who do not wish to donate or wear mufti must wear the usual Academy PE kit. Staff will be collecting the money at the start of lessons.
