Secondary Executive Principal leads team at CBA

Anne Hill, the Secondary Executive Principal for Brooke Weston Trust is working closely with newly promoted Heads of School Nicola Treacy and Simon Underwood to implement change at Corby Business Academy.

The trio are all effective at implementing whole school improvements. Anne is a National Leader of Education and a highly experienced Principal with three prior Headships.  She has an excellent track record of school improvement and Ofsted inspectors have praised her ‘ambitious and highly effective leadership’, and “sharp focus on school improvement”.

Anne graduated from the University of Leeds and previously worked in the accountancy profession for the 'Big 4' firms. She was awarded the Withers Memorial Prize for secondary teaching by the University of Manchester and, in a previous headship transformed a poorly performing school in Northampton to one that was consistently good. She joined the Brooke Weston Trust in September 2016 as Principal of Thomas Clarkson Academy and drove up performance there, recording its best ever exam results. She was appointed to her current role in January 2018.

She said: ‘I joined the profession because I am passionate about the power of education to improve the life chances of students, especially those with 'disadvantaged' backgrounds. What I most enjoy is rolling my sleeves up and working alongside colleagues and students to improve their outcomes. There is no more rewarding a career than seeing the development of self-belief and confidence in students.  My key skills are in analysis, school self-evaluation, school improvement planning and driving that improvement.

‘Nicola, Simon and I are all delighted to be working together to quickly and effectively identify where positive changes can be made at Corby Business Academy.

‘There will be a focus on key strands, such as teaching and learning, improving outcomes and making sure that both behaviour and expectations are high. Our vision is to embed and instil a whole-school ethos of high achievement, expectation and positivity.

‘I am delighted to be working with Simon and Nicola, who are both experienced leaders with the heart and passion to make a difference. We also have an established network of Vice Principals and middle leaders at the school and across the other Trust schools who will support our aims, along with the full backing of the Brooke Weston Trust.’
