The Academy has seen a rise in the average grade attained by students and the progress that students made during their sixth form studies. There is continued success for applicants to Russell Group Universities.

Top performers included Kyle Murray ( A* in Business Studies, A in Maths and A in Further Maths) who is going on to study Maths at the University of Nottingham, Narayan Collins (A* in Maths, A in Further Maths, A in the Extended project Qualification and a B in Physics) who will be continuing studies in Mathematics at Durham University, Christopher Williamson (A* in Maths, A in Further Maths and B in Physics) who is also continuing to study Mathematics at the University of Nottingham , Mathew Hartley (A in Business Studies, B in Maths and B Psychology) who will study Economics or Industrial Economics at either University of Nottingham or University of Warwickshire , Emma Holbrook (A in the Extended Project Qualification , B in English Literature, B in Media and a Distinction in Health & Social care) who will go to study Publishing at the University of Central Lancashire and Kirsten Downs (A in

Photography, B in Media and a C in Psychology) who will continue studies in Photography at the University of Arts London.

There was also real success with the progress that students made during their sixth form studies. These included Madison Hobman for her progress in Photography and Psychology, Olivia Gallagher-Diver for her progress in English and Health & Social Care and Meadow Gallagher-Diver for her progress in Music and Health & Social Care.

There has been an increase in performance across a range of subjects and a rise in the percentage of students going onto university this year compared to last year, with some students opting for professional or vocational apprenticeships.

“The range of high-quality destinations indicates the hard work of the students and dedication from the Academy’s staff; it is also important to recognise the commitment and support from parents and carers alike.

“To see our young people move to destinations of their choice is very satisfying, we wish them all the best in their next endeavours.

“The results are indicative of the progress that the Academy has made in its overall provision. We are determined that we will continue to go from strength to strength and provide our community with an excellent sixth form environment.”
