Students will soon start reading more than 100 books to see if they can spot the best stories on the market for children and young people.
A list of nearly 140 books nominated for this year's Cilip Carnegie and Kate Greenaway Medals has just been announced and CBA students have been challenged to see if they can pick out this year's winners to be in with a chance of winning a prize themselves.
CBA librarian, and Carnegie co-ordinator, Amy McKay, will be reading all the books on the list and is encouraging students to do the same.
She said: "The nominated books are examples of the best in fiction and illustrations for children.
"We will have a display of all the books in the library and we will start to shadow the awards in our book clubs this week.
"The students will be challenged to read the books and pick the ones they think are the best. If they manage to choose the ones which make it through to the long list or the short list for the awards they can win prizes."
When students read one of the books their picture will go up on a display in the library.
CBA assistant librarian Christina Mangin will be joining Miss McKay in her challenge to read all the nominated books.
