Staff and students dig deep for Philippines appeal

Staff and students at CBA have raised more than £300 for the appeal to help the people whose lives have been devastated by Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.

Staff and students at CBA have raised more than £300 for the appeal to help the people whose lives have been devastated by Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.
The typhoon was 300 miles across when it struck the Philippines on Friday 8th November and was one of the most intense tropical storms to ever make landfall anywhere in the world.
It has affected nearly 10 million people across nine regions in the Philippines and countless people have died.
To help those in need a bucket collection was held at the Academy last week for the Philippines Typhoon Appeal and it raised £329.71.
Chair of CBA's charity committee, Sixth Former Ellie Mae Moore said: "We raised £329.71 for the Philippines appeal which was amazing.
"We are all so thankful to students and staff for their kindness."
A donation of £25 can provide water purification tablets for 10 families for a month, £50 can enable a family to be fed for two weeks and £100 will provide emergency shelter and bedding for a family.
