Year 9 Online Maths Tests

Year 9 students have sat online maths tests to assess how they have progressed this year.

The questions set were similar to the standard of the now defunct SATs tests which were scrapped by the Government last year.

And the results will be used to help grade the students as they move into their GCSE stage of Year 10 and Year 11.

MAIT teacher David Joseph said: "We have been working over the last few weeks towards these tests which concentrate on the Key Stage 3 curriculum.

"Students have been revising and doing test papers online so they have been able to progress each time and work on areas they have found more difficult.

"This is the first time we have tried an online test and the unique thing about it is that students are able to find out their results as soon as they have completed the test."

Year 9 student Michael Foley said: "The test was actually quite fun and I found it easier to concentrate as the questions were on the screen."
