Carnegie Shadowing

Friday saw the end of weeks of preparation as eight KS3 students visited Lodge Park Technology College to take part in Corby School’s Annual Carnegie Shadowing Morning.

The Carnegie Awards are a prestigious book awards for young people and members of the Corby Book Addicts Club have been furiously reading the shortlist for the last month.

During the Shadowing Morning students took part in quizzes, a heated debate about the shortlist and gave short presentations about their favourite shortlisted book.

Students were also treated to the opportunity to question one of the national Carnegie judges, there are only 11 judges throughout the country so to have one in attendance to grill was fantastic!

Official results will be announced on Thursday 25th June, but our favourites to win are Black Rabbit Summer by Kevin Brooks and Bog Child by Siobhan Dowd.
